CSA crop share 2007 09

Tomatoes, tomatoes, tomatoes!

(Click on the photos to see larger images and notes at flick'r.)

We got 7 1/2 pounds of tomatoes this week, plus one pint of cherry tomatoes. I think this heirloom could represent the whole lot on it's own:
I got to see the whole farming family today, and Tricia, Tom and Dakota gave me a sneak peek of the ginormous heirloom monster tomato that's been growing on the farm. Yowzah!

If you have any tomatoes left by the time you leave on your vacation, L and I would be glad to come pick them up and eat them while we're in PA! (Well, maybe not L since she kinda hates tomatoes... but I will!) -- We'll leave you a present in return :)

That is a ton of veggies! Do you share with someone or manage to eat all of them on your own??

I feel like such a loser as we can barely keep up with our half of a crop share!

Yay, big tomato! There are always extras, bg :)

Crystal, I split the share with my sister and still always struggle to use it up before the next pickup. CSA day always includes an hour or so of cleaning out the crisper drawers, prepping the veggies and freezing anything I haven't used or don't think I'll be able to. It's a little bit of organizational work, but so worth it.
